敢: dare to learn kanji

敢, daring:  Grab someone's ear by the top and hit it with a stick -- a daring
                     (if foolish) act!
厳, strict:    Someone represses (pushes down) your daring, keeping it
                     locked inside -- that's strict.
敢厳
